menu-xdg software package provides freedesktop.org menu compliant window manager scripts, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install menu-xdg
menu-xdg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the menu-xdg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep menu-xdg *
You will get with menu-xdg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
